This month we hear from Mark, our team administrator and one of the newest members of our team here at Compass

I am part of the Compass team helping to … provide support on general logistics and office administration, enabling the team to operate as efficiently as possible on a day-to-day basis

I work in mental health care because … everyone is affected directly or indirectly, and having been exposed to the suffering that comes with mental health conditions, I wanted my line of work to have a positive impact on improving quality of life for these individuals

The part of my job I most enjoy is … collaborating with the Compass team. As a collective I have never worked with such a friendly, driven and caring bunch of individuals!

When I was a child I always wanted to … be Tony Hawk, but after a decade of trying I can confirm that I’m still not quite as good a skateboarder as he is… yet! I’m getting there but it’s definitely a work in progress

An unusual fact about me is … that I’m overly competitive with niche board games such as Qubic (which is basically 3-D Connect Four)

My proudest achievement is … getting my black belt in Taekwondo by the age of 14– this took blood, sweat and lots of teenage tears

The best place I’ve ever visited is … the Grand Canyon in the States. Pictures don’t give this epic scale “wonder of the world” the justice it deserves. We travelled there by car and got to take in a section of the iconic Route 66. It was definitely an experience I’ll never forget

My dream one day is to … tandem skydive, I would love to experience the feeling of free-fall despite the thought of it currently terrifying me.

The song everyone should listen to is … Don’t Stop by Fleetwood Mac, very on theme during this time of uncertainty caused by COVID-19
