This month we hear from Armin Khayatian, our Manager of Operations …

I am a part of the Compass team helping to … set our strategy and scale our operations, with a particular emphasis on partnerships and establishing our Centres of Excellence

I work in mental health care because … I’ve seen the impact that mental health challenges can have on friends, family, and society. I was inspired by Compass’s vision of a world of mental wellbeing and commitment to changing the paradigm around access to evidence-based innovation in mental health care

The part of my job I most enjoy is … getting glimpses into the future of mental wellbeing. Whether it’s attending one of our internal Journal Club discussions, reviewing technology roadmaps with our Product and Engineering teams, or engaging with researchers at our partner institutions, my days are filled with insights into the forthcoming trends in mental health care

What I am most grateful for is … consciousness and all the wonderful experiences it enables. I’m grateful that I exist, that I’m aware and aware of my awareness, and that I can feel and perceive things. That I have a degree of control in shaping these experiences and can share them with others. So while there is a breadth of things that I’m grateful for, in some ways they feel like second order effects of consciousness itself

The book everyone should read is … The Midnight Library – a beautiful exploration of what is truly fulfilling in life and what makes it worth living in the first place
