We promote environmental awareness throughout Compass, fostering a culture in which the greenest option is always considered, including the website you are reading now. According to online carbon calculator Website Carbon, the average website produces 1.76g of CO2 for every page view. Our Compass team built our website with the environment in mind.
We’re delighted that our Compass website has been officially certified as green by the Green Web Foundation – a not-for-profit organisation that exists to track and accelerate the transition to a fossil-free internet.
Our main website host, IONOS, uses a mix of local, renewable energy sources, carbon offset certificates and other initiatives to neutralise their CO2 emissions. Their energy management systems are regularly assessed by sustainability experts, and in 2020, they saved more than 973 tons of CO2 through recycling old servers and office equipment.
Amy Lawrence, member of our Compass green team, explained: “At Compass, we’re guided by our green mission – minimising our negative environmental impact in favour of sustainability. Every single person, company or organisation can play their part in making our environment greener, and I’m pleased we’re continuing to do that here at Compass.”
