I struggle to pick one story to share as they’re not my stories to tell. What I can say is that throughout my life, I’ve seen friends, family, classmates, and coworkers struggle with various challenges with mental health. The first funeral I remember attending was for an elementary school classmate who had taken his own life. I’ve lived with a brother and significant other that have grappled with multiple episodes of depression over the years. My relationship with my uncle has been deeply defined by the PTSD that arose from his experience living through conflicts in Iran. Every story is unique but the unfortunate common denominator is that everyone tends to know of at least one story like these.
